General Conference with a ray of sunshine

We went to Bayonne to watch a bit of conference yesterday. With the time difference, the men watch the recorded priesthood session Sunday morning at 11, then there's an hour where everyone eats their pique-nique on the lawn, then we all watch the recorded Saturday afternoon session from 2-4. There's a break until the live Sunday morning session starts at 6pm, and when we were young and childless, we even would stay and watch the Sunday afternoon session from 10-midnight (if the person responsible for the building was game). Yesterday, we only stayed for the priesthood and Sat afternoon sessions because of the hour and a half drive and Ryn having to get up for school now. Kev and I watched the Sunday afternoon session on the computer after we got the girls in bed, so we still have Sat and Sun morning sessions to go, but there were a couple of things about yesterday I wanted to record here. Not any quotes from any talks, even though they were all fabulous. What was wonderful to me yesterday was to watch Ryn get so much out of that session. Her interest started when she saw that the choir was entirely made of children and every song they sang, she sang along excitedly with them. Then, during the talks, she would start to color, but look up and listen for long periods of time in each one.

On the drive there, we were telling Ryn about conference--how wonderful it is to listen to the Prophet and Apostles teach and testify of Jesus. She was very excited. The most obvious and wonderful example was during Elder Corbridge's talk about Jesus Christ. His voice was so powerful and his theme so clearly about Christ that Ryn couldn't stop looking from the TV screen to the large framed print of Christ in the red robe that was hanging on the wall in that little Relief Society room, with this wondrous look on her face. It was like she wanted to say, "You were right, Mom and Dad, these men are testifying of Jesus!" Kev and I just looked at each other with tears in our eyes, so thankful to be a part of and a witness to the process of helping these angels learn about, love, serve, and return to their Savior, Jesus Christ.

Ryn is such an amazing little girl! I LOVE HER! When do find out boy/girl? You're more than 20 weeks?
