We're trying to do summer stations every day to have some structure, accomplish some fun things, and give the girls a chance to earn some nickels for their piggy banks ( they don't even think about spending it, they just like to see them filling up :) ). On the charts are time slots for reading, piano/music, exercise, journals, French, and an extra job. They can earn a nickel for each one. I'm taking this time while they're writing in their journals to make this post. I'm finding (here on DAY 1) that this is going to be a pretty big job for me. I guess that's how life is as a mom, right? Is there a magical age where you can give your kids a list of things to do and come back an hour later to find everything accomplished? Because 6,5, and 3 are NOT those ages. Surprise, surprise :).
Still, I think it will turn out well if I can do my daily job of "just not giving up". That's one of my favorite things my mom told me she learned from Elder Oaks' mother: you succeed as a mother if you just don't ever give up.
